A New Beginning for Otto's Firefighters
At noon on February 24th,, the Otto Volunteer Fire Department proudly held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new fire station. The event took place on the historic Georgia Road, at the very site of the original town of Otto, North Carolina.
Honoring the Past
Fire Chief Kevin Fountain opened the ceremony by acknowledging several distinguished guests, particularly those who were part of the original firefighting crew from 1978. In his address, Chief Fountain provided a brief history of the organization, reflecting on its beginnings and the evolution of its vital role in the community.
A Vision for the Future
The new fire station is set to enhance the operational capabilities of the Otto Volunteer Fire Department, enabling them to serve the community more efficiently and effectively.
